Public Works Summer Stipend

General Information

Each year, the Class of 1997 awards a grant to a rising sophomore or junior who will be working/interning for a public policy, non-profit, or government organization during the summer. The grant is intended to support a student that would otherwise receive little or no salary during this time and as a result might not be able to take advantage of the opportunity.

Application Information

Applications should include the candidate’s updated resume, documentation of a candidate’s financial need (e.g. a budget of estimated costs), and a personal statement explaining how the summer plans tie into future goals. The 1997 Class Officers review the application materials and may also interview the candidates. The award is granted after a discussion and vote by the Class Officers, which usually occurs in mid-May.

Deadline

April 15 of the award year.
